– Left Handed Giant Tap Takeover – 14th to 18th October

It has been too long since we last had Left Handed Giant around these parts for a few pints – so we thought we’d invite them up for a tap takeover. They’ll be travelling up from their base in Bristol armed with 5 of their freshest beers, showcasing their fluency and brilliance across a range of styles. Plus, they’ll have some exclusive pours from their yet-to-be-released Blender programme – oi oi!
LHG (as we call them) have been one of our favourites pretty much since day dot of them starting, and given they’ve now got two brewery locations and a tap room, they don’t show any sign of slowing down just yet. In fact, we invited them up to Indy Man Beer Con all the way back in 2015 – and given we’ve just gone past the weekend that would’ve been IMBC, it felt like the perfect time.
As mentioned, the LHG crew will be making the journey up themselves, giving away a swag bag on the night itself.
Here’s what we’ll be serving:
All My Friends Fruited Gose with Papaya, Mango, Orange and Sea Salt 5.5%
We’ve taken the fruit back a little this time, for a refreshingly light, tart fruit character that allows the soft malt backbone to shine through. Bright, zippy citrus and sweet tropical fruit with a delicate, salty edge… mouthwatering stuff.
In Search of Brightness DIPA 8.5%
*PRETTY MUCH A FIRST POUR* New double IPA – expect big, bold, bright.
We Are Floating In Space Imperial Stout 15%
WOOF! Imperial stout with brown sugar, cacao, banana, almond and vanilla.
Cheeseburger Cavalry IPA 6.9%
Burgers & beers are an amazing combination. Thankfully, this beer wasn’t made with burgers, but instead a whole heap of Citra and Mosaic.
No Maps IPA 6.8%
Another superb example of a juicy, creamy and immensely enjoyable IPA. Brewed with Cryo Amarillo and Mosaic hops for a hoppy punch and Oats and Wheat for a creamy finish

– Salt Beer Factory Tap Takeover, October 7th – 10th

One of the our favourite new(ish) breweries of the last few years, Salt Beer Factory have made some of the Port Street’s most cherished beers of late: who amongst us hasn’t fallen head over heels for the NEIPA Jnr? Making beers that are both on the very bleeding edge of the craft scene from their home in Saltaire – while still being hugely accessible – we thought it would only be right for us to have Salt down to takeover our taps for a weekend, sending some of their heaviest hitters – AND SOME PORT STREET EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEKS – to pull and to pour.

Brewer Tom will be here on the Thursday too to discuss any and all questions to do with the beer too: lush.

Here’s what we’ll have on:

– Overtone Tap Takeover – Thursday 16th to Wednesday 22nd September

We’ve invited one of Glasgow’s finest, Overtone, to takeover our guest taps for the weekend. Started only back in 2018, they’ve fast made waves in the craft beer scene with some of the best recent examples of British takes on American classics. Creating fresh new classics every month in their brewery on the banks of the river Clyde, we’ve asked them to send over 4 of their latest and finest for the discerning drinkers of Port Street Beer House to sup on all week long, from Thursday 16th to Wednesday 22nd September.

About Overtone:

THE BREWERS
The head brewer Dan Miller, all the way from New Hampshire – brings with him a knowledge of American style beers. This has allowed us to consistently produce aware winning New England IPAs that loved by craft beer fans nationwide. Charlie, the assistant brewer, also comes with an array of talents, previously brewing for a local Scottish brewery and being an avid home brewer

THE BEERS
With the aim of ensuring customers enjoy our beer as fresh as possible, Overtone are a fully fluid brewery meaning we keep brewing new beers every month. Using nothing more than high quality hops, yeast, and malt, they still manage to create all-natural, unfiltered, and unfined beers bursting with flavour.

We’ll be serving up…

Third Session IPA 4.7%
An easy drinking session IPA with a smooth, malty backbone. Fresh, tropical aromas with some undertones of resin and citrus fruits on the tongue, enjoyed by a slight spice at the end
Citra Mo Galaxy IPA 6%
We go back to experimenting with the classic hop combo series, this time bringing one of our favourite hops to the party, Galaxy! Soft and juicy mouthfeel with bright passion fruit and citrus flavours and some mellow grassy notes.
A Real Peach Peach, Mango & Redcurrant Smoothie Sour 7%
If it’s not already obvious, this heavily fruited smoothie style sour is brewed with a serious amount of juicy peaches for those delicate sweet flavours. We’ve also added some ripe mango and redcurrants to add an extra balance of tropical and tartness.
Captain I Am Fading DDH DIPA 8%
A smooth DDH DIPA balanced with Cashmere, Citra and El Dorado hops. Enjoy flavours of honeydew melon, pineapple, juicy peach and hints of apple.

Flights will be available – free in, and all the rest.
