– Easter Weekend at PSBH

Easter,[nb 1] also called Pascha[nb 2] (Aramaic, Greek, Latin) or Resurrection Sunday,[nb 3] is a Christian festival and cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead – and for this year’s celebration, we’ve got a similarly sensational return: WIZARD KING joins us for a live set from 8pm this Friday (8th). You may remember Wizard King from his memorable Mr. Blobby-themed sets at IMBC last year or, for those of you with memories a little longer, you could perhaps recall the first coming of our lord and saviour (and king of wizards) as he performed at our 7th birthday back in 2018. Absolutely hyped to welcome him back to the stage and, if you’ve not experienced the joy before… here’s a clip of his IMBC set.

Before that though, we welcome DJ Mitre & Papa Burgundy to the saloon for an Easter weekend Thursday (aka honorary Friday) night from 6pm, where they’ll be playing tunes suitable to sip a couple of pints of cask alongside, or to have a little dance (either in your chair or on the floor, your choice tbh). Legends of the scene, we’re happy to have them back too of course, but they were only here about two weeks ago – a resurrection of sorts, we suppose.

Free in, and all the usual. Plus, we’ve got our usual HAPPY HOUR until 4pm on Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Monday, with £4 pints of House Lager, House Pale, Schofferhofer, and Cider, as well as 20% off the entirety of our 7 Cask lines. Hallelujah.

– PSBH Birthday weekend, 10-12 February

We are turning 12 on Sat 11th Feb and you are invited! 🎂
With doughnuts from @dghntmcr, DJs, Pass the Parcel, free Birthday cake, and of course… Pints! Pints! And more pints! We’ll also be doing a tap takeover – see below for that! 🎉
Plus if that wasn’t enough, the chance to meet Guy Fieri in person! We haven’t actually invited him, but he could be there. Seems pretty unlikely tbh but you never know!

Pomona Tap Takeover – 11th February

They might not have been with us since day dot, but we can’t blame them for that: they didn’t even exist. Still, there’s no-one we’d sooner spend our 12th Birthday weekend with than the brilliant POMONA ISLAND!
If you don’t know about Pomona by now… ah, there’s no point explaining it. One of the city’s most feted breweries of this millennium, and they’ve only just got going: they’re going to be bringing an ELECTRIC, an INCREDIBLE, an UNBELIEVABLE SEVEN FIRST POURS to Port Street Beer House. We’re in heaven.
Starting on the 11th, and going through until the end of our birthday weekend (or until they’re finished, whichever comes first), we’ll be pouring

– Sierra Nevada – Torpedo on keg, this Thursday

Don’t call it a comeback, they never really went away… well, unless you count all the years where we didn’t have it in, of course. But, regardless: Sierra Nevada is back on keg! At Port Street Beer House!

Thursday 2nd February, we’re pulling Sierra Nevada’s seminal TORPEDO. The original extra IPA, served exactly how god intended it: from a well kept cellar, on Port Street in Manchester’s historic Northern Quarter borders. Never had it before? Boy, you’re in for a treat – here’s all you need to know from Sierra themselves:

With Torpedo, it’s all about maximising every hop for the biggest, boldest flavor possible. So we push dry-hopping to its limits with the Hop Torpedo, our custom invention that’s shaped like its projectile namesake. Beer flows out of a fermenter, surges through the Hop Torpedo, and back into the tank for a supercharged IPA.

Malts
Caramelised malts, Two-row Pale

Hops
Citra, Crystal, Magnum

Yeast
Ale yeast

Pouring all day: see you then.
